What makes Things I Like so special?
Well, simply put, I only make the things I like! I don't make vast quantities of any particular style, so all of my designs are quite exclusive. There's a real charm to the casual shabby chic style, which can so easily be spoiled by corporate branding and overpriced names. Handmade does not have to signify second rate; in fact, it means care and ingenuity has gone into each creation!

Taylor in his buckaroos tee shirt! The tee shirts are made by using the reverse appliqué technique, which creates a little window in the shirt for the images to peep through. It makes them much more interesting and tactile. I choose different motifs for each, and this one is a great Alexander Henry print.
The Roller Towels fasten with buttons over your towel rail, so there's no need for a special removable rail; they will also fit your cooker or AGA. At one craft fair my friend Nicola and I started calling them "Man Proof Towels", and they have been a hit ever since! I have one on the towel rail in my bathroom as well as one on my oven rail, and there's never a hand towel on the floor again!
The Tub Bags have been a big hit as well! I'm often asked, what are they for? Well, because they are made of oilcloth inside and out, and are also reversible, they have many more uses than a regular handbag. They are great for swim/beach bags, grocery shopping, picnic bags, laundry, recycling, blah blah blah...
This oilcloth was a Globaltex print I had specially coated for Things I Like. Ok, we love our pink spotty oilcloth, but this oilcloth is so unusual, and brilliant for boys (and tomboys)! A great combination with the red polka dot oilcloth, and a much softer handle. So exciting to have something exclusive as well! I think it works perfectly with the nautical look, which I love. There's not much of it left, so when it's gone, it's gone... |
